Organic, non-toxic kitchen & home — opening soon

We would rather show you what we rejected.

Evra puts cookware, water filtration and food storage through a published standard, then lists what passed — and what did not, with the reasoning attached. Nothing here is recommended because it sells well.

No spam. One email when we open, nothing before that.

Our standard

Every product we list is missing something, on purpose.

Six things you will not find in anything we carry, in the kitchen or the bathroom. Select each one to see why it is gone.

  • PFAS non-stick — Excluded

Fluoropolymer coatings and the processing aids used to make them. A cooking surface that becomes waste the first time it is scratched does not belong on a pan built to last.

  • Plastic against hot food — Excluded

Storage and cookware where hot contents touch plastic. This is the single most common reason we turn down otherwise decent kitchen products.

  • Synthetic fragrance — Excluded

Undisclosed fragrance blends, in cleaning products as much as in skincare. What scent remains is named on the label, or absent entirely.

  • Phthalates & BPA — Excluded

Plasticisers, including the replacement compounds that quietly took BPA's place. Excluded from containers, lids and liners without exception.

  • Seed oils — Excluded

Sunflower, canola, soybean and other high-heat industrial oils. Left off every formulation we carry, and out of the seasoning on the cast iron.

  • Parabens & sulphates — Excluded

Petrochemical preservatives and SLS/SLES foaming agents, ruled out in favour of tested alternatives.

The shelf

Where we started, and where we are going.

Kitchen and home first, because that is where the gap between the claim and the material is widest. Personal care follows the same standard.

How it works

We test. You buy direct.

01

We assess

Every product is put through The Evra Standard before it earns a place. Material declarations, test reports and sourcing are checked, not assumed — and where we can measure something ourselves, we do.

02

We publish both answers

Passes go in the shop. Rejections go in the shop too, marked Did not pass, with the reason attached. The working out goes in the Journal.

03

You buy direct

You complete the purchase on the maker's own site, at their price. Evra doesn't handle payment, shipping or stock — we may earn a commission, which never decides what passes.

Our promise

We would rather list less than list wrong.

Most shelves grow by addition. Ours grows by elimination. Before anything earns a place on Evra, we look at what it leaves out as closely as what it contains — and we ask the manufacturer to put it in writing.

We do not take a cut of what you spend beyond an affiliate commission the maker pays, at no extra cost to you. We do not accept payment for placement, and a brand cannot buy its way off the rejection list.

That is a slower way to build a store. We think it is the right one.
